Prevent Buildup. Maintain Flow.

Biosurfactant solutions that controls paraffin and asphaltene deposition to keep production systems and wells flowing

What Is Avert®?

Avert® is a line of biosurfactant-based flow assurance solutions designed to remediate and prevent paraffin, asphaltene, and other organic buildup. It penetrates, disperses, and suspends deposits to restore flow, while helping prevent re-deposition to maintain stable flow conditions and reduce the need for reactive treatments and interventions.

Primary Applications

Flow Assurance & Production
Prevent buildup that restricts flow in producing wells
Production Systems
Maintain stable flow across tubing, flowlines, and surface equipment
Midstream & Gathering
Reduce deposition and improve reliability during transport and in the wellbore

How Avert® Works

Avert® restores and maintains flow by controlling how deposits form and interact within production systems.

Deposition Control

Deposition Control

Prevents paraffin and asphaltene from forming solid buildup
Dispersion & Stability

Dispersion & Stability

Keeps materials dispersed to avoid accumulation and restriction
Surface Interaction Control

Surface Interaction Control

Reduces adhesion of deposits to tubing and equipment
Sustained Flow Conditions

Sustained Flow Conditions

Maintains consistent flow paths and system performance over time

Restored Flow & Lower LOE

Operators benefit from:

  • Prevented buildup and reduced flow restrictions
  • More consistent production performance
  • Fewer chemical treatments and cleanout operations
  • Reduced downtime and maintenance frequency
  • Improved system reliability over time

Frequently Asked Questions

Avert® is a biosurfactant-based treatment designed to remediate and prevent paraffin, asphaltene, and organic deposit buildup in the wellbore and production systems.

Avert works by:

  • Penetrating paraffin and asphaltene deposits to access buildup at the source
  • Dispersing heavy organics into smaller, flowable particles
  • Suspending materials in the flow stream to prevent redeposition

Solvents act slowly at the surface of deposits and are short-lived, failing to maintain dispersion or suspension—often requiring high volumes and allowing buildup to re-form.

Avert:

  • Penetrates beneath the surface of deposits to disrupt adhesion and cohesion
  • Reduces recurrence
  • Improves long-term flow assurance
  • Paraffin buildup
  • Asphaltene deposition
  • Flow restrictions
  • Increased downtime
  • Wells with recurring deposit issues
  • Systems requiring frequent cleanouts
  • Operations looking to reduce chemical and maintenance costs

Systems without inorganic deposition issues will see limited benefit.
